All Up weight with 2200mah 4S LiPo Battery 1.3kg . This design is based on Matt Hall’s (Hallstudio on Youtube) design with a few modifications. The combination of a High KV (1400) motors, small and balanced GWS style props (8×4) and the wooden frame and shooting on 1080 60fps eliminated virtually all of the nasty rolling shutter prevalent on CMOS based GoPro camers.

Finally shot some video without rolling shutter on my new Tcopter frame based on Matt Hall’s (Hallstudio) design.

A combination of High KV (1400), Small props and Wooden frame helps to eliminate rolling shutter on the GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition

Mount your Samsung Galaxy II/Note on your Canon DSLR hotshoe

Using a Universal Cell phone bicycle mount like this one

and a swivel hot shoe mount

and having a Galaxy Note lying around, I installed it with the DSLR controller software for Android

You also need a mini to micro USB cable, in the pictures you can see I use a USB adapter cable which is not perfect as movement can loosen the connection.

I got a decent sized monitor for my 5D MKIII.

Successful Altitude Hold and Loiter test on first day flying with my Hexacopter

I managed to test the Altitude Hold and Loiter functions of my ArduPilot Mega2 controlled Hexacopter and was pretty impressed with it. There was strong winds initially but when it died down to a breeze I turned on the altitude hold and it seemed to hover with a deviation of around 3m. Then when I turned on the Loiter mode, my hexacopter stayed within a 5m radius despite some wind. The fact that I didn’t do any adjustments and used everything stock was quite impressive to me. The firmware and code is well written I guess.

Other items needed are,
Double sided foam mounting tape, PVC container to protect the APM2 flight controller. 200W soldering iron and flux core soldering lead. Hands free soldering stand, this is a MUST have for soldering wires and connectors . Cutters, pliers, hex and ordinary screwdrivers. Screws and nuts to secure the landing gear, default screws are too small from the frame kit I bought, so I used my own 3mm bolts and lock nuts. Nylon cable ties to tie the wider landing gear to the narrower landing gear of the hexa frame. Velcro straps to hold the battery. Fiber tape for sticking the Power distribution cables to the frame. Glue gun to insulate the power distribution cable
I built my own Power distribution using 2 loops of 12AWG black and red cables, soldered the ends together and made six cuts along the cable and carefully solder a female Polymax 3.5mm connector onto it. A separate cable is soldered with a XT60 connector for the battery. ESCs power cables are too short and are extended with the 12AWG cables and soldered with the male Polymax connectors in turn are connected to the self soldered Power distribution cables.
